U.S. Politician Hires Undocumented Immigrant

Grey Ibrahim logo

Bernie Sanders has hired Belen Sisa, a political activist and DACA recipient, to be the his Deputy Press Secretary. Belen Sisa is an undocumented immigrant from Argentina. Her parents brought her to the United States at the age of 6. She often discusses the opportunities that have led her to where she is today and often praises the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival program.

Belen served Senator Sanders in his 2016 campaign as part of the Latino outreach program. She is also a member of the NextGen America foundation, is a member of the Dream7, and graduated from Arizona State University. Her accomplishments and advocacy for immigration rights and reform haven't gone without recognition, especially with Senator Sanders.

“For someone who was so scared of participating in anything, and coming out and doing this, it’s pretty hard to believe I’m standing in the middle of it all,” said Sisa, according to Arizona Central.

Sisa’s immigration advocacy has been brought into the spotlight by Bernie Sanders. On March 5th, 2019, Senator Sanders announced that he would be running for President of the United States in 2020, and signed a "loyalty pledge" to the Democratic Party for his presidential candidacy. During his speech, he announced that he would abide by the Democratic Party’s interests to qualify as a presidential candidate and campaign for the party.

The Senator’s platform should be no surprise for those who follow Sander's career and politics. Bernie Sanders has been a long supporter of the following:

·        Open immigration;

·        Environmental protection;

·        Conservation of natural energy

·        Water control & power consumption adjustments;

·        Health, education & labor law reform;

·        Veterans affairs reform;

·        Infrastructural adjustment

Hiring Belen Sisa falls closely to Sander's publicly vocalized support for DACA, as well as immigration laws that would allow employment and a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants. He also opposes the building of the border wall proposed for the the United States and Mexico border.

    "One of the top immigration lawyers in Chicagoland. Michael Ibrahim is attentive, supportive, and knowledgeable. One of his best abilities is his availability. He responds to emails with attention and detail, often on the same day. Don't underestimate that in dealing with any immigration matter. He is personable; he does not simply collect fees and treat you like a client but rather like a friend. Your success is his success, and he understands that. If Michael were a surgeon, accountant, or another lawyer in any other field. I would want him. You cannot replicate him.." -Yousef S.

  • Five Star Rated Immigration Attorney Ibrahim Law

    "My wife and I are very thankful for Micheal Ibrahim. Before we hired him, we approached many immigration lawyers over ten years to duplicate documents that were destroyed in a fire. The results were disappointing. Micheal was able to find the lost documents. My wife got her permanent residency. He was always available for us during a stressful time. We would like to thank Michael for his knowledge, professionalism, and expertise. We would definitely recommend Michael for immigration services." -Farzad D.
