The client fled and sought asylum in the United States. He begged for help from the business, a large company with resources. The business refused to help and said the client was on his own despite the paramilitaries targeting the business and its money rather than the client himself. The paramilitaries saw the client as an easy target and kept focusing on him. The client then tried to go to the police, but they refused to help. The paramilitaries then attempted to use physical force on the client, who fled immediately after the incident. The immigration judge granted the client asylum for past persecution.
