Donald Trump & the State of the Union Address

On January 29th, President Donald Trump delivered a speech to the millions watching his first State of the Union Address of 2019. President Trump delivered an optimistic and steadfast speech, ensuring listeners that now is the best time to be an American. President Trump highlighted arguably the hottest topics in United States politics, such as low unemployment rates, small business status, stock market performance and trends, progressive tax cuts, and infrastructure advancement, to name a few.

President Trump went on to mention unity and progression stating,

But as President of the United States, my highest loyalty, my greatest compassion, and my constant concern is for America’s children, America’s struggling workers, and America’s forgotten communities. I want our youth to grow up to achieve great things. I want our poor to have their chance to rise."

 Overall, President Trump's State of the Union Address received generally positive ratings across the board, even with a survey conducted by CBS stating that the opposing party had a general approval rating of 30%, as well as a poll conducted by CNN showing that a majority of viewers found Trump's State of the Union Address to be "in the right direction".
